Job Opportunity: Sushi Chef – Malta
Net Salary: €1300 – €1500

Role Overview

  • Prepare and present a variety of sushi and Japanese dishes to the highest quality standards

  • Ensure precision in knife skills, fish preparation, and sushi rice handling

  • Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation standards

  • Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients, particularly seafood

  • Manage mise en place and ensure proper storage and stock rotation (FIFO)

  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards

  • Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service

  • Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a high-volume or fine-dining environment

  • Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and preparation techniques

  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail

  • Understanding of food safety and seafood handling standards

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills

  • Passion for quality and continuous improvement
